GOVERNMENT APPROVES PAYMENT OF PROFESSIONAL
ALLOWANCE TO CERTIFICATED PROFESSIONAL TEACHERS

This is to inform all and sundry that the Government has finally approved the payment of Professional Allowance to all Certificated Professional Teachers in the Ghana Education Service.

The allowance which is 15% of the basic monthly salary, takes effect from January, 2010. The initial payment will be made at the end of June 2010 whilst the arrears will be paid in three phases – July, August and October, 2010.

The other allowances – Deprived Areas, Science, Maths, ICT, Technical and Vocational, Supervisory Allowances will be considered within the implementation of the Single Spine Pay Policy.

More information will be sent to you on the rest of the salary negotiations as and when available.
