The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), in collaboration with the Canadian Teachers Federation (CTF) will organize In-Service Courses for teachers in the following subjects:
- Educational Administration for Heads of Senior High Schools, Principals of Teacher Training Colleges and Technical/Vocational Institutes.
- Educational Administration for Heads of Basic Schools.
- Senior High School Mathematics
- Senior High School English Language
- Junior High School Mathematics
- Primary Mathematics and Science
- Special Class for Female Basic School Teachers of Science and Mathematics.
- Junior High School Science
- Junior High School Pre-Technical Skills
- Junior High School French
The courses which are open to teachers in Ashanti, Eastern and Volta Regions, have been scheduled as follows:
- July 11 – 17, 2010 at Wesley College of Education, Kumasi for teachers in Ashanti Region.
- July 18 – 24, 2010 at SDA College of Education, (Asokore) Koforidua for teachers in Eastern Region.
- July 25 – 31, 2010 at St. Teresa’s College of Education, Hohoe for teachers in Volta Region.
Participants will be entitled to the following:
- Accommodation
- Meals
- Refund of travel cost (as per GPRTU/STC rates)
- Certificate of Participation
No fees will be charged.
Prospective participants who should be GNAT members should apply to the GNAT Regional Secretariats (in Ashanti, Eastern and Volta Regions) for selection forms and receive notification of their selection before they report at the centres.
Prospective participants for Senior High School Mathematics must attend with the following:
- Ministry of Education Core Mathematics Syllabi for September 2003 and September 2007. Syllabi for Elective Mathematics (2003 and 2007)
- Two (2) Core Mathematics Textbooks by different Ghanaian authors being used in their schools.
- Two (2) Elective Mathematics Textbooks by different Ghanaian authors being used in their schools.
- Mathematical Sets, Scientific Calculators and 30 cm plastic ruler.
- Past WASSCE papers (1&2) in both Core and Elective Mathematics.
Closing date for receipt of applications is 20th June 2010. |
